Attributor Partners With Magazine Publishers of America and Periodical Publishers Association to Stop Piracy and Help Monetize Content Across the Web

San Mateo, CALIF. (PRWEB) June 10, 2010

Attributor, provider of the first Web-wide content monitoring and identification platform, today announced partnerships with the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) and the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA). The partnership goals are to provide magazine industry professionals in the US and UK with an effective way to stop piracy, increase visibility of how their content is used across the Web, and create more revenue-generating syndication opportunities.

A key aspect of the shared vision between the three organizations involves protecting the value of publisher content. A recent Attributor study found that publisher content reaches 5.3 times more audience on sites who are not licensed to republish those articles. Another study on online magazine infringement highlighted 20 of the more than 2,000 domains that illegally host full-issue downloads of magazines. Unauthorized content reuse is growing more than 15 percent per year, which translates into millions of dollars in lost licensing and advertising revenue per year.

Illegal syndication is taking its toll on the publishing industry, and individual publishers are struggling to monetize and protect the value of their content, said Jim Pitkow, Attributor CEO. Its vital that these publishers have control over their content to eliminate piracy and increase revenue opportunities. Our partnerships with MPA and PPA will allow more publishers access to these services.

With the advent of multi-platform publishing, magazine brands face a very real threat from piracy on the internet, said Barry McIlheney, chief executive of the PPA. At the PPA we have a responsibility to help members tackle this issue and together with Attributor we can provide a way of identifying and protecting high-value content.

With this alliance, the MPAs 225 domestic and 50 international publishing companies, and the PPAs nearly 200 publishing company members, who together publish more than 3,000 consumer, business and customer magazines, will receive a discount on the full suite of Attributor products and services. This discount includes Guardian, which allows content owners real-time access to actionable intelligence about where and how their content is propagating across the entire Internet. Guardian enables member companies to protect their existing online licensing and advertising revenues, identify new licensing opportunities, as well as up-sell existing syndication customers

Attributors content monitoring technology is available in 18 languages and helps content owners protect their copyrighted content. The technology provides 24/7-piracy protection by monitoring more than 35 billion Web pages, including hosting sites, cyberlockers and link farms, continuously scanning for copies of original works. Once a potential infringing copy is found, the content is verified before takedown notifications are sent.

Social Project Collaboration Site sprintr Launches To Simplify Employee Communications Across Enterprise Project Teams

Boston (PRWEB) May 31, 2011

Mendix, the leading agile application platform-as-a-service company, today launches sprintr, the first social collaboration space dedicated to assisting employees and project teams across the enterprise. Sprintr combines the best of social collaboration and project management tools to facilitate employee engagement and co-creation. Now in beta, project teams no longer have to cope with heavyweight, administrative project management tools.

Sprintr is simple and easy to use; signing-up takes less than 10-seconds using a corporate email address. After joining, users can create projects, send invitations to fellow stakeholders and start a conversation. Project pages are furnished with a name, description and a logo, and members can stay up-to-date, share and discuss thoughts on a project page.

Sprintr simplifies the collaboration process by breaking down traditional organizational boundaries, said Derek Roos, CEO of Mendix. In most organizations, project teams are geographically dispersed, resulting in inefficient communication, adding complexity to any project. Sprintr eliminates this problem and facilitates true business collaboration online.

Team members can also establish milestones within projects and use planning tools to manage them. As each milestone is added, completed or changed, team members are notified and kept up-to-date. Sprintr organizes thoughts and ideas so project teams dont have to.

Faster Feedback, Forever

With sprintr, teams can organize end-user feedback and incorporate it directly into their planning. This user-driven functionality enables teams to get instant feedback and course-correct quickly, resulting in better business practices and happier customers.

For software teams, a feedback widget containing a simple pop-up form can be easily embedded in any website or web-based application. This widget enables teams to get instant user feedback on any application. Stakeholders can then evaluate the feedback, via a built-in voting mechanism and either reject it, put it on hold or add it to the project backlog.

Sprintr can be accessed at, http://www.sprintr.com.
