Premier Assistive Technology Announces ReadingXpress – Meeting the Changing Requirements of Student Accommodations

We hear the same story from schools time after time, "We buy assistive technology and nobody uses it," says Dr. Steven Timmer. Is it because students' needs and their study methods are changing? If that is the case, then maybe the way we approach accommodations for students needs to change. Five years ago, the cost of a desktop personal computer dropped below $ 1000; Just two years ago, the price of a notebook computer dropped below $ 1000. The point is most students attending institutions of higher learning now have their own computer. In fact, in a growing number of institutions, it is a requirement to have a personal computer to attend the school. Students are spending less time on campus, and are using their personal computer instead of working in the lab.
